Shiners Recording in less than a week!
We will be going into Jeremy Darby’s amazing studio, The Canterbury Music Company, in less than a week – so a few days left to contribute to the Fate Line Recording Project campaign on indiegogo. Through direct contributions and indiegogo we have raised over $2200. If you are thinking of supporting the project in this way, please take a few minutes to jump through the electronic hoops in the next few days. It is all very much appreciated – whatever the amount! If online donations is tricky for you, as it has been for some generous patrons, please get in touch with me directly to make a pledge.
As a reminder, there are some great perks or incentives on the indiegogo site, including pre-orders and a chance to sing on a tune from the upcoming CD!
The plan is to go in and record the rhythm tracks for 12 tunes in 3 days. Jeremy’s studio is perfect for such an endeavour – chosen for its ability to accommodate 5 Shiners doing their thing live off the floor but in separate sound booths.
We are lucky to have Jeremy and his experience and skill in recording – past clients include Elvis Costello, Lou Reed, U2 and on the Canadian front, our buddy Ron Sexsmith!
The Shiners have been hard at work (or play) rehearsing and finessing the tunes. Simon and I had an opportunity to perform our song “Sunday Morning, New York City” at the Royal Conservatory of Music last weekend to a very receptive crowd! Check out the video – Hannah was our videographer!
We’ll post many updates and pics from the studio on Facebook and/or my blog!
