I am grateful to have found dedicated souls over the many years (since at least 2008) that want to join me on a this musical journey.

The Shiners include Simon Law, the band’s drummer, keyboardist, background vocalist and producer and John Teshima (the OG Shiner) who plays guitar, both electric and acoustic – he also plays keyboards and adds background harmonies.  Since 2023, Hideki Kumagai has joined the band on bass and Dorothy Hwang, occasional Shiner on such recordings as The Other End and Unavoidable You, has joined all-in on keyboards and mandolin as well as background harmonies.  As ever, Emmanuel Szpetycki, Jen’s violinist offspring, joins the Shiners occasionally for recordings and performances, when not doing their own music in Montreal and at Concordia University.

So here are some photographic highlights since our new incarnation in 2023 – with pictures from our January 27, 2024 launch of “We Are” at Burdock in Toronto, various gigs at Evergreen Brickworks (location for various bands shots by official Shiner photographer Fred Carter) and pictures from Cabbagetown Festival 2023 and a gig in June of 2024 at the Queen City Yacht Club’s Lobster Fest on the Toronto Island of  Algonquin.
